The Sierra Leonean economy remains predominantly agrarian. Agriculture continues to employ at least 70 per cent of the national labour force and contributes more than 40 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP). There is an abundance of renewable energy resources, including biomass, solar, wind and hydropower generation, which adds to the promise of agricultural enterprise development.
