The 2016 Annual Retreat of the UNFPA Sierra Leone Country Office is in progress at The Place, Tokeh Beach on the outskirt of Freetown, with all Country Office staff in attendance.

The four-day event was formally declared open on 18 June by the Representative, Dr Kim Dickson.

In her opening remarks, Dr Dickson welcomed all staff and expressed optimism about the outcome of the retreat. She expressed hope that staff will not only use the opportunity to relax, refresh and know each other better, but also to reflect on how to be more efficient and effective in their work.
She urged all to be active participants as the success of the exercise depends on the contributions of each individual.

The expected outcomes of the retreat enhanced programme and office management knowledge, improved relationships, communication and team work.

The four-day event is being facilitated by CTI Consulting and is scheduled to end on Friday, 22 July, 2016, with concrete actions on the way forward towards effective programming and staff relations for the next one year.

The office will resume normal business on Monday 25 July, 2016.
