UNFPA Sierra Leone is dedicated to supporting the Government of Sierra Leone in strengthening its socio-health systems. Areas of support include: building the country's midwifery capacity through support to the School of Midwifery Makeni (SOMM), raising awareness in the fight to end Obstetric Fistula, empowering adolescent girls in rural areas and deploying contact tracers to halt the Ebola virus.
