In 2017, UNFPA Sierra Leone remained a committed partner to the Government of Sierra Leone through the implementation of the UNFPA Sierra Leone sixth Country Programme Document. Guided by the principles of ‘leaving no one behind and ‘reaching the furthest behind’, UNFPA remains the leading agency that expands the possibilities for women and young people to lead healthy sexual and reproductive lives in Sierra Leone. UNFPA envisages meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by working in partnership with Government, other UN agencies, civil society organizations, faith-based organizations and non-governmental organizations, to make a significant difference in the lives of millions of Sierra Leoneans, especially those marginalized, forgotten and voiceless.
