Poverty analyses became prominent in Sierra Leone after the end of the civil war in 2002. Since then, the Government of Sierra Leone has regularly monitored household welfare within the framework of the country’s poverty reduction strategy papers (PRSPs). The PRSPs became the national development plans, starting with the interim PRSP (2001-2004). The first comprehensive PRSP ran from 2005 to 2007, succeeded by the Agenda for Change, PRSPII (2008-2012), and followed by the Agenda for Prosperity, PRSPIII (2013-2018), which is currently being implemented.
