Several socio-economic surveys in Sierra Leone have confirmed that education enhances lives. It ends generational cycles of poverty and disease and provides the means for sustainable development. Quality basic education better equips girls and boys with knowledge and skills
needed to adopt healthy lifestyles. Cognizant of this, the Government of Sierra Leone allocates a sizeable share of its budget to the education sector to strengthen its human resource capital so that it can meaningfully contribute to the country’s socio-economic transformation.
