The 2015 Sierra Leone Population and Housing Census is the fifth in a series of modern censuses conducted in 1963, 1974, 1985 and 2004. Census data are used for policy making, planning and administration, research, business, electoral boundary delimitation and sampling frameworks for surveys (United Nations, 2008). This analytical report comprises 16 chapters covering a wide range of topics such as census methodology, migration and urbanization, housing conditions, population in agriculture, persons with disability, Internet, and Ebola’s socio-economic impacts. Its primary objective is to provide policy makers, academics, data users and the general reader with timely and relevant demographic, socio-economic data and information for policy formulation, development planning, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and plans, as well as service delivery.
