The challenge focuses on the following thematic areas:
- Skills building, entrepreneurship and income generation
- Improving health services for young people
- Ending gender-based violence
- Ending child marriage
- Reducing teenage pregnancy
- Addressing Female Genital Mutilation
- Preventing drug and substance abuse, including kush
- Other strategic initiatives to empower young women
This call invites 1 year proposals from groups or organizations led by young women between 18 and 35 years of age, including newly formed groups. Applicants who successfully complete the first round will be invited to pitch their ideas to an independent jury.
The winning groups or organizations will each receive SLE 25,000 to implement their ideas, in addition to capacity building and mentorship support throughout the 1-year initiative.
Elegibility criteria
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- Existing or new group led by a woman between the ages of 18 and 35
- Group members must reside in the district for which they are applying
- Women aged 18-35 must form half or more of group members, and the group must be led by a young woman aged 18-35
