Sierra Leone’s latest Maternal Death and Surveillance Response (MDSR) report, released today at a launch in Freetown, calls for united action from government, health workers, communities and partners to tackle the high number of maternal deaths occurring in the country. In 2016, a total of 706 maternal deaths were reported although the MDSR report suggests that the actual amount of maternal deaths may be much higher.
